You can transfer a call in several different ways:
Transfer type |
What happens |
---|---|
Unannounced transfer |
You transfer the call to someone directly, without speaking to them. |
Announced transfer |
You put the call on hold while you call the person you want to transfer the call to. If they agree to take the call, you complete the transfer. |
Conference transfer |
You add someone to the call and have a three-way conversation before you transfer the call. |

With unannounced transfers, there's a risk that the call goes to a phone that isn't answered, sends the call to voicemail or automatically forwards the call elsewhere. Similarly, you can't be sure a call you've placed against a busy phone will be retrieved promptly. You can set up options to ensure that these calls don't get lost and that callers don't have to wait too long without speaking to someone.
To activate call transfer options
Select from the following options:
Service option |
What the option does when activated |
---|---|
Weiterleitungssperre für Weiterleiten ohne Rücksprache verwenden |
After an unannounced transfer, the destination phone is not allowed to send the call to voicemail or forward it to another location. |
Weiterleitungssperre für Weiterleiten mit Rücksprache verwenden |
After an announced transfer, the destination phone is not allowed to send the call to voicemail or forward it to another location. |
Rückgabe |
If you transfer a call to a number that is not answered within a certain number of rings, the call returns to you. You can set the number of rings to between 2 and 20. |
Bei Rückgabe: Wenn besetzt, wartet Anrufer |
Lets you transfer a call to a busy phone. When the phone becomes free, an alert warns the person at that extension that the call is waiting. If the call remains unanswered beyond a time limit, the call returns to you. You can set the time limit to between 30 and 600 seconds. If you activate this option, call forwarding won't work. |
