Alternative numbers
About alternative numbers
If you need to answer calls coming in to more than one phone number, you can have these numbers assigned to your phone in addition to your One Net Business phone number. You can then answer calls to all these numbers on your own phone. This is useful if, for example, you answer calls on behalf of several departments or teams.
An alternative number can also be a virtual extension. A virtual extension is a number that isn't a real phone number but can be mapped to a real phone number. When it is dialled, One Net Business connects the call to the real phone number. If a user's extension changed from 1234 to 5678, they could have extension 1234 assigned as an alternative number. Colleagues can then continue to dial 1234 to reach them.
You can have up to 10 alternative numbers assigned to your phone.
To view your alternative numbers
- Select Anrufdienste > Alternative Rufnummern > Anzeigen.
Ring patterns for alternative numbers
Some desk phones support different ring patterns, such as long-long or short-short-long. If you have one of these phones, you can assign one of four ring patterns to each of your alternative numbers. Each ring pattern also has a distinctive call waiting tone. With different ring patterns and call waiting tones, you're able to distinguish which number an incoming call is ringing.
Calls to your primary phone number use the normal ring pattern.
Desk phones only
This feature only works on desk phones that provide different ring patterns. It won't work on mobile phones or devices running the One Net app.
To set ring patterns for alternative numbers
- Select Anrufdienste > Alternative Rufnummern > Bearbeiten.
- Set Eigenes Klingelzeichen to Ein.
- Select the ring pattern you want to use for each alternative phone number.
